Event #10: WHO RULES THE SEAS LOG

Event #10: WHO RULES THE SEAS LOG
The Corsairs disperse to complete their work across the Eternal Ocean, the whole of the organization is buzzing with activity. The scholars are hard at work on drawings and the engineers on the initial fabrication of the weapons. The Flotsam fleet is rather thin as ships are criss-crossing the ocean ferrying Corsairs to areas to complete their important work.
MISSIONS
A Mine Reborn: The captured mine on Hesaeth has remained silent since the Corsairs collapsed it on the Imperial heads during the defense of Flotsam. With the additional expert manpower from Vindess, however, the Corsairs are prepared to breathe life back into it, making it operational once more.
Priority: Semi-Optional, at least one log for securing metal must be completed.
Recommended roles: Gatherers
Challenges: The cave-in the Corsairs caused was quite extreme, so re-excavating the mine will be dangerous and difficult work.
Extra: If both A Mine Reborn and Salvaged Steel are completed, the Gambit “Surplus Steel” will become available for the following mission.
Salvaged Steel: The battlefield that was once the mining town of Vindess is mostly quiet now, with Imperials cleaning the area with the intent to move in new citizens and servants to work the mines. While this is occurring, the gear and equipment from the fallen soldiers is still available for the pickings, so long as a crew of Corsairs is daring enough to do so.
Priority: Semi-Optional, at least one log for securing metal must be completed.
Recommended roles: Infiltrators
Log Leader: This log is eligible for a Log Leader, if one is chosen we will message the leader additional details.
Challenges: Stealing the equipment under the noses of the Imperials will be difficult, exceptional stealth and logistics will be required.
Extra: If both A Mine Reborn and Salvaged Steel are completed, the Gambit “Surplus Steel” will become available for the following mission.
Gunpowder Raid: Synthesizing gunpowder in the Eternal Ocean is difficult. There are a few sources of sulfur, most notably some of the volcanic areas of Hesaeth, but by and large the Corsairs get by on Imperial supplies. With the immense amount of powder these new weapons will require, the current stores are not enough to sustain both it and the standard Corsair operations, so more must be stolen. The Corsairs are targeting an Imperial Supply Run to Elysium.
Priority: Semi-Optional, at least one log for securing gunpowder must be completed.
Recommended Roles: Combatants
Log Leader: This log is eligible for a Log Leader, if one is chosen we will message the leader additional details.
Challenges: Corsairs will need to capture, but not sink the Imperial escort ships so they can steal their resources.
Extra: If both Gunpowder Raid and Sulfur Hunt are completed, the Gambit “Surplus Powder” will become available for the following mission.
Sulfur Hunt: The Corsairs will need to make their way into Imperial territory near one of the active Hesaeth labor camps and steal their sulfur supplies.
Priority: Semi-Optional, at least one log for securing gunpowder must be completed.
Recommended Roles: Infiltrators and Gatherers
Log Leader: This log is eligible for a Log Leader, if one is chosen we will message the leader additional details.
Challenges: The Corsairs will need to sneak past both guards and miners both in order to obtain the sulfur, as well as find a way to remove the large barrels without attracting attention.
Extra: If both Gunpowder Raid and Sulfur Hunt are completed, the Gambit “Surplus Powder” will become available for the following mission.
Archipelago Sweep: The Fallen Isles must be swept of hostile Imperials so the new weaponry may be set up. This must occur with precision on an exact date in order to secure the islands for the Corsairs before the Imperials can muster the legions.
Priority: Critical
Recommended Roles: Combatants
Log Leader: This log is eligible for a Log Leader, if one is chosen we will message the leader additional details.
Challenges: This attack will require a coordinated sweep from a bulk of the Corsair combat ships, airships, and armors. It will be a large-scale engagement the likes of which the Corsairs have never undertaken before.
Turncoat Nobility: The Fallen Isles house many nobles who are at least somewhat sympathetic to the Corsairs or otherwise firm in their preference to live far removed from the Empire. These nobles might be turned to the cause.
Priority: Optional
Recommended Roles: Negotiators
Log Leader: This log is eligible for a Log Leader, if one is chosen we will message the leader additional details.
Challenges: The nobility in the Fallen Isles are a diverse bunch and while some are sympathetic to the Corsairs, some are not. The Corsairs will need to carefully negotiate in order to ensure success, and prevent an early warning to the other Isle residents that the attack is coming.

A MINE REBORN

The first trick is Ultrahand; a ethereal line of green light that stretches from his right hand to any fallen boulder, and lifts it up like it were a feather. Whenever Link does this, his arm changes into a strange form - but the moment he releases a boulder and the light disappears, his arm returns to a normal appearance. But with Ultrahand, Link can easily move what would normally be quite difficult for multiple people to move.
The second trick is bomb flowers, and the willingness to use them. If Ultrahand can't dislodge any fallen debris, explosions will more than do the job.

(Link hasn't asked about growing them, but presumably someone has set up something for him.)
The new magic isn't that out of line for what wizards can do back home, so Ilphyl is more concerned with what can be cleared with their own magic, which often was going back in and refining Link's demotions so it becomes a stable passage with a good floor for moving loads. It means spending a lot of time in their base form, which means occasionally Ilphyl might need a break. A deep rothé was a familiar animal to Ilphyl even if the animal (not quite a musk-ox, but in that familiar) was not common in the area.

SALVAGED STEEL
Re: SALVAGED STEEL
Imperial uniforms. And armor.
This still had its challenges, but...
GUNPOWDER RAID

"All right, sounds like they're not expecting company. Strike hard and fast before they can scramble."
In front of him, the bay doors start to open, a gust of wind rushing inside all at once. The turtlekin takes in a slow breath, hearing the hiss and clicks of the mechanisms unlocking from his Feder, the Armor shifting subtly. His fingers fly across the console in front of him to fully activate the suit, feeling the power thrum around him. He slips his arms into position, grasping the controls.
"Launching in three...two..."

But she hadn't managed to get flight customizations for the Drachen, so--
"Launching!"
Work with the forces you have, not the forces you wish you had. Cast sufficient to bend steel and watch those flak cannons...

ARCHIPELAGO RAID

The Arcadia was among them, the strange blue ship proudly displaying a flag of bone and crossed bones circled in a wide sweep. Inside, Harlock steered closed to the designated point, the view of the surroundings showing up crystal-clear on the monitors, while on the floor images of the archipelago is displayed with an overlay of marks.
Turning to Ilphyl and Donnie as volunteer corsairs sat at weapons consoles, Harlock addressed the whole group. "The fleet is split to tackle here, here, and there - and this is our target." He gestures. "Our ETA is twenty minutes - that is enough time for anyone using an Armor to get to the holding bay and get yourself situated. Once we arrived at our designation, the Arcadia will open the bay to let loose the Armors while providing cover fire until you are here..." he then gestures to the half-way point. "If I am right, this is where you will start to meet resistance from the Imps - if they are quick on their feet, and they should be."
"Once engagement starts, we will be aiming directly at the fort while you take down the imps - force them to choose between intercepting our fire or to intercept the Armors, if you can get the Imps down or get past them, then move on to breach the walls until the fortress falls or they surrender."
He then looks to the spellcasters mixed in with the crew. "Magic is still... beyond my scope," he admitted. "I will leave it to your discretion."
"Before we head to our respective stations, any last questions or suggestions? A pirate will always have a plan, but can adjust on the fly should the situation warrants."

Donnie forces himself to take a breath, to try calming down some. First things first. He nods as Harlock explains things. The offerings of the Arcadia will never cease to amaze him. It's like he learns of some new function every time he's aboard, and he tries to make it a point to be aboard whenever given the chance.
One day maybe he'll try a hand at those weapons, but today, he knows where he's better needed, and he only hopes he can keep his head clear.
"We'll just have to be quicker," he hums, his lips tugging up on one end in a crooked smirk. "My Feder's built for speed so it shouldn't take too long to get where I need to be. My comms will be open, so if you see anywhere you'd rather have me be, I'll do my best to accommodate."

VILLAIN FIGHT
They struck her home. Her stronghold. How dare they! How dare they!
She'd had to spend several weeks overseeing repairs, but the rage had continued to burn and smoulder, into it became an inferno.
Such disrespect will not be tolerated. And if you can't rely on your servants to defend a supposedly highly-defended fortress...well, then some things one must do yourself.
And so away she goes, transformed into a dark will-of-the-wisp, until she finds the floating fleet of Flotsam. She alights on the bow of the biggest ship, as the sky above darkens into a terrible storm.
"Degenerates," she says, in a voice that magically rings out across the entire fleet. "Fools. Pathetic insects with delusions of heroism. Did you dare to think that your insult would be forgotten?"
Lightning strikes the ship's mast, and begins to burn. And Maleficent faces the fleet with yellow, hellish eyes.
"Now you shall deal with me," she says - and then her form begins to change. Skin becomes dark black scales, nails become vicious class, teeth and jaw become a giant maw within which burns the fires of hell. And she grows larger, and larger again, until she is the size of one of a ship herself.
Her true form, finally revealed - the Duchess Maleficent is a dragon. And she is here for revenge.
Re: VILLAIN FIGHT
A dragon... his lips split into an almost maniacal grin - Harlock knew he had descended from knights, but to think it's him - a pirate that would actually get to battle though the excitement was tempered by the curse over his head. There's no turning back, and he'll be damned if he just hang back now.
"My friend..." He whispers softly as he ran his fingers over the . "You know what to do in the worse case," with that, he lifted his head, calling out loud and clear across the Flotsam's network. "The Arcadia has arrived and we'll be providing artillery support! Any ship that is in no shape to fight - fall back, we will cover your retreat."
With that, the guns took aim before firing off an opening volley - more to draw her attention.
