MISSION #02 A MAN OF WORTH PLANNING PHASE

EVENT #02: A MAN OF WORTH PLANNING PHASE
The time has come to begin preparing to engage and capture the VIP. The knowledge he holds will be imperative to further Corsair operations, and they absolutely cannot let this opportunity slip by.
By a narrow vote, the Corsairs have elected to destroy the escort fleet, deeming a capture operation on the ships far too risky while also attempting to secure a VIP. As such, the Corsairs have two primary duties - discern information on the movement of the troops and prepare heavy munitions to sink the airships.
Since the game’s population is still in flux due to our new status, we are scaling back the people requirements and opening all event logs to everyone. Now, in order for a given log to be complete, we only require that players start logging it out. We’ll continue to assess and refine our mission style as the game continues and we see what works and what doesn’t, please bear with us as we get this all figured out.
CORE MISSIONS
Gather Information: Negotiators will need to connect with the Imperials in Elysium and wring as many details about the upcoming visit as they can. The more the Corsairs know about the timetable, expected escort, and armaments, the higher the chance of success.
Conflicts: A delicate touch will be needed to avoid arousing suspicions. Corsairs will need to be able to justify why it is important for them to have the knowledge, and Imperials tend not to like to give information to staff if they acknowledge they exist at all.
Requirements: To participate in this mission, your thread header should read GATHER INFORMATION.
Gather Munitions:Suppliers will need to start preparing and developing heavy munitions to attack the escort fleet. It is imperative that every airship in the escort sinks beneath the waves, and the crew along with it, and the Corsairs will require a lot of firepower to see it done.
Conflicts: Working with explosives is risky business, and unskilled hands are liable to get blown off. Suppliers will need to be careful with both their preparation and their handling, even moreso if they go out to gather particularly volatile materials from particularly volatile wildlife.
Requirements: To participate in this mission, your thread header should read GATHER MUNITIONS.
SIDE MISSIONS
With Hesaeth captured, the Corsairs will now need to hold it. Players may propose Player Plots to see to its defenses, in the likely event that the Empire attempts to reclaim it in the near future. The below prompts are potential things that may be done, but players are encouraged to think up their own plans and run their own logs if they think of anything. These Plots may be submitted here.
Trap the Mines: Line the mines with explosives so they can be collapsed in the event of an attack.
Undersea Route: Carve an undersea route into the mines so people can be evacuated via submersible.
Rallying Point: Set up a Rallying Point in the Hesaeth wilderness where evacuees can rendezvous for escape in the event of attack.
Defense Systems: Set up cannons to fight back against Imperial Invaders.

Musse - Gather Information
Deedee: Gather Information
Gather Munitions - Nephenee
Because if the information the Corsairs gave them is right, this Merchant House doesn't just house firearms and ammunition. It's where Link's Korok-enchanted pack ended up after he was captured by the Empire. And maybe they'll have some other stolen Outlander items as well, if they're lucky.
Link hopes they're lucky. He wants his pack back. Trying to fit everything he's collected into his tiny dorm has proven...difficult.
Now, he and Nephenee are creeping towards the back wall of the House. Link glances back at Nephenee. Is she ready?

At least her clothes aren't too warm; that would've made it so much worse with how much of a furnace the Sentinel is. It's gotta be evident even to Link with the heat radiating off her.
She's not sure what they'll find here, but there's a very tiny part of her that is praying to whatever beneficent deity might be out there that this is going to be worth all this waiting. That tiny part is shuffled off whenever it pops up. No, no, their intelligence is usually pretty sound, it seems, so it'll be worth the wait to get in here.
Anything to help the Corsairs, anything to keep them and their families safe.
As they get close to time, and Link looks to her, she's positively bristling with energy. "Yup," she whispers in answer to his wordless question, replacing the crochet she was fiddling with. "How we wanna get in there?" She hasn't seen any obvious things they can take advantage of, like open windows, but she's kind of new to this sort of thing, so she's probably missed something. Being honest, if they didn't need supplies and such, she'd be far more reticent about this whole "breakin'-an'-enterin'" thing...

Skill going off: Adept, Crit hit (3x damage)
Gather Munitions
The alchemical processes of making grenades and shaped charges from gunpowder and fire ether crystal is similar to cooking, an irony not lost on Senshi as he adds powder to a carefully shaped ceramic container, one pinch at a time.
"Have we got enough nitrate for the fuses?" he calls over his shoulder. "Raid the pink salt from the butchers for it if you have to!"
no subject
"How much will we need?" the young turtlekin asks, jotting things down in a small notebook, mostly to help lock words down that he's still trying to learn.

"Nitrate..." Laios hums, searching through their supplies. After a bit he holds up a box of off-white powder. "Is this what we're looking for?"
GATHER INFORMATION
The tea was set, the cakes immaculate, and as for her guests, well... have fun. One would need to have passed her rigorous screening to stand with her now in the presence of nobility, and there was no room for error.
Defense Systems
Yet, there's a small part of him a little gleeful - not particularly because he is the type that likes his booms - well, he likes his booms, but because - perhaps he read too many stories about wooden ships and iron men growing up. "Hmm... looks like this cannon got damaged in the fight," The pirate kneels, inspecting the large dent in the metal casing.
"Think it is safe to load?" He calls out.
no subject
He slips over to the cannon that Harlock's been looking at, reaching out to run his hands along the barrel and down until he comes across the damage in question.
"Hmm..."
He frowns thoughtfully, hopping up with ease to drop down on the other side of it as he eyes it, stepping behind the base with one eye closed and then the other as he studies the lines from either side. "Might be risky if the chamber's been compromised. That dent is pretty deep."

Gather Information
…relaxing enough to loosen lips. When the Corsairs stop by after hours, Deedee does what she can for their injuries, and passes on slips of the tongue.
“Had a sky-frigate’s lieutenant come in today and complain about the captain’s safety regulations,” she passes on. “They do call and response passwords, change them every week on Coinsday. Didn’t tell me this week’s, but maybe you can find out.”
no subject
What Rezo is here for is work.
"I may be able to, if they discuss it among themselves," he says when the subject of passwords is brought up. "Do you have a spare room I can use, somewhere that the Imperials won't wander through?"
UNDERSEA ROUTE (Backdatedish)
When the proposals for getting Hesaeth prepared for worst possible outcomes are made, the turtlekin readily volunteers to assist with scoping things out underwater. After all, you can't just drill a hole straight through.
The upper part of things has already been considered, maps of mine tunnels looked over before a suitable location has been chosen. They just need an end point, and an ether beacon set so they know that they're excavating in the right direction. With water practically being a natural element for Donnie to be in, there had been little questioning, and as soon as the beacon's been prepped and handed over, it's into the water that the turtlekin goes!
