Tandy curled up in one of the common rooms, looking fairly drained. She'd spent the past hour writing details into dossiers. The things she heard, things she found in the hearts of empire flunkies with painfully base hopes. Sure one of them deeply hoped to meet a nice man and settle down. But most of them wanted things too far removed from 'good' it made hopes turn sour in her mind.Vault - Training Area - Open
Something about her powers felt a little grosser than usual right now. Honestly she was considering what the local drug scene was like, which was an equally bad idea. And why she didn't feel it was a good idea to stay in her room alone right now.
Tandy's demeanor is counter to who she is at the Circle of Blood, Starlit Stage, or King's Table. Someone flirty and vivacious. Not some dour mopey teen.
Ballet, as she knows it, isn't local here. So practicing anywhere in Elysium might lead her to trouble. And she has a lot of feelings right now, and dance is a good way to work through them. Her moves are fluid, graceful, but clearly rusty from her time away from it.
The emotion is evident. Not just in her movements, but in the lights growing brighter around the room as she dances. Beyond the light they should produce. A curious thing, a weird resonance her magic produces in the world around her.
...Maybe someone should step in before things explode.

Date: 2024-06-19 04:11 am (UTC)Then the lights started getting brighter. Even Marcille's light spell started getting brighter (it can get real dark in some parts of the Vault and Marcille barely needed to think to cast such a simple spell.). She was going to have to do something.
"Um...Excuse me?"
Going for the firm and bold approach, I see.

All the lights and light magics revert to their more normal state, her knife is still the purest white light in her hand before it vanishes with everything. "I'll try to keep my focus a little better."
It was sheepish, and lame. And didn't explain anything.

Date: 2024-06-19 05:11 am (UTC)Marcille didn't respond to the threat with a threat of her own. She just held very still while wishing she was better at abjuration until the strange dancer calmed down and the lights went back to normal.
"No need to pull knives on each other. We're all on the same side in here."

Date: 2024-06-19 05:21 am (UTC)"My power is a little... Tempermental, here." The reasoning was more complicated than just any one thing. But that absence in herself was clearly nagging at her more than she wants it to. Hence the stress, and stress dancing, and volatile powers. "Sorry. Let's try again? I'm Tandy."
Her command of the local dialect is pretty good. But she practices.

Date: 2024-06-19 05:27 am (UTC)Excellent diplomacy, the situation seems to have been diffused. Now that she listened, Tandy's accent suggested she might be one of the outworlders. At the very least, it wasn't an accent Marcille recognized.
"I've never seen that style of dancing before. What was it?"

She needed to keep in practice for her own sanity as much as anything. But on top of that it was her's, and she only got it back after years without it. She couldn't lose much else, "I figured here was the best choice to practice, all things considered."

Date: 2024-06-22 05:07 am (UTC)How does she best explain herself, her issues. Without, of course, just opening herself up to a stranger. "My magic is just tied to my emotions. Dance is one of my healthier ways to express it. Since- well, I've always loved dancing."
Having to give up dance for nearly a decade, because her life didn't give her the time or space to do it, was probably a part of her many poor choices over that time.
