Tandy curled up in one of the common rooms, looking fairly drained. She'd spent the past hour writing details into dossiers. The things she heard, things she found in the hearts of empire flunkies with painfully base hopes. Sure one of them deeply hoped to meet a nice man and settle down. But most of them wanted things too far removed from 'good' it made hopes turn sour in her mind.Vault - Training Area - Open
Something about her powers felt a little grosser than usual right now. Honestly she was considering what the local drug scene was like, which was an equally bad idea. And why she didn't feel it was a good idea to stay in her room alone right now.
Tandy's demeanor is counter to who she is at the Circle of Blood, Starlit Stage, or King's Table. Someone flirty and vivacious. Not some dour mopey teen.
Ballet, as she knows it, isn't local here. So practicing anywhere in Elysium might lead her to trouble. And she has a lot of feelings right now, and dance is a good way to work through them. Her moves are fluid, graceful, but clearly rusty from her time away from it.
The emotion is evident. Not just in her movements, but in the lights growing brighter around the room as she dances. Beyond the light they should produce. A curious thing, a weird resonance her magic produces in the world around her.
...Maybe someone should step in before things explode.

Date: 2024-06-18 10:49 am (UTC)If anyone danced like this in Hyrule before the Calamity, he doesn't remember it. So as she dances, Link stops. Finds a seat nearby, and sits down to watch.
He notices the lights glowing stranger, and glances at them with brief curiosity. But he doesn't realise there might be any danger, so he doesn't see any reason to intervene.

Or, more accurately, one pair of hands clapping. ]

Date: 2024-06-19 04:11 am (UTC)Then the lights started getting brighter. Even Marcille's light spell started getting brighter (it can get real dark in some parts of the Vault and Marcille barely needed to think to cast such a simple spell.). She was going to have to do something.
"Um...Excuse me?"
Going for the firm and bold approach, I see.

Tandy's still reflexively speaking her version of English. She's been working on speaking the local dialect casually but she did just blow something up without meaning to. The tension broken with that little display means all the other lights go back to normal as Tandy catches her breath.
After getting her heart and breath under control does she notice she's gotten an audience. "...hi."

Date: 2024-06-19 04:59 am (UTC)Wasn't aware I'd gotten an audience.

Date: 2024-06-19 05:02 am (UTC)No threat. Not in danger. Calm. Down.
All the lights and light magics revert to their more normal state, her knife is still the purest white light in her hand before it vanishes with everything. "I'll try to keep my focus a little better."
It was sheepish, and lame. And didn't explain anything.

Date: 2024-06-19 05:11 am (UTC)Marcille didn't respond to the threat with a threat of her own. She just held very still while wishing she was better at abjuration until the strange dancer calmed down and the lights went back to normal.
"No need to pull knives on each other. We're all on the same side in here."

Date: 2024-06-19 05:21 am (UTC)"My power is a little... Tempermental, here." The reasoning was more complicated than just any one thing. But that absence in herself was clearly nagging at her more than she wants it to. Hence the stress, and stress dancing, and volatile powers. "Sorry. Let's try again? I'm Tandy."
Her command of the local dialect is pretty good. But she practices.

Date: 2024-06-19 05:27 am (UTC)Excellent diplomacy, the situation seems to have been diffused. Now that she listened, Tandy's accent suggested she might be one of the outworlders. At the very least, it wasn't an accent Marcille recognized.
"I've never seen that style of dancing before. What was it?"

Date: 2024-06-19 08:16 am (UTC)"Hi," he says. And then, because he was wondering about the lights - was it her?! - he asks, "...Do you have bomb magic?"
If she had bomb magic, he was very, very jealous.
Elysium
Date: 2024-06-19 08:58 am (UTC)Noctis flops down in a chair, then discovers the presence of the other woman.
"Oh. Didn't know anyone else was here..." he comments as he starts to stand and leave them to it, when he pauses, noting the woman's dour mood. "Hey, you alright?"

Date: 2024-06-20 05:03 am (UTC)She closes her eyes to focus her breath, a small orb of light forming between her hands as the lights (the ones not blown up) grow brighter in time with her power. But she let's the orb disappear before anything (else) explodes. Control, she can be in control. She's got this.
Eyes open again she figures it'll help sell the whole 'she's okay' if she acts like a normal person. "I'm Tandy."

Date: 2024-06-20 05:12 am (UTC)"Ballet. It's all about grace and control." Well, also endurance, but that's not normally what people notice. The show of it is about the control.
She needed to keep in practice for her own sanity as much as anything. But on top of that it was her's, and she only got it back after years without it. She couldn't lose much else, "I figured here was the best choice to practice, all things considered."

Date: 2024-06-20 05:16 am (UTC)"Fine, just- long day." She wasn't sure how to explain without talking about who she was, or where she's from. Another part of the 'long day.' She didn't have to keep a persona for so long, all her cons were short. Few hours max. This was new. "I'm Tandy, wasn't expecting other people to be around right now."

Date: 2024-06-21 10:46 pm (UTC)And Zelda.
There's a solemn, wistful look on his face, as he gazes at the ball of light. Zelda would love to see this, meet someone else who possessed the same kind of magic.
"It's powerful," he says, as the light disappears. "I'm Link."

Date: 2024-06-22 05:03 am (UTC)Wonder where that is.
"I've always been the better at destruction." Light. Hope. Both hand in hand with the power to break things, end things. Far more than her partner. "Maybe didn't mean to do it here, but the past month has been stressful."
"What about you, anything you feel like sharing?" She did feel a little exposed, having her powers being talked about and scrutinized when she was usually the one spying and stealing, not being so seen.

Date: 2024-06-22 05:07 am (UTC)How does she best explain herself, her issues. Without, of course, just opening herself up to a stranger. "My magic is just tied to my emotions. Dance is one of my healthier ways to express it. Since- well, I've always loved dancing."
Having to give up dance for nearly a decade, because her life didn't give her the time or space to do it, was probably a part of her many poor choices over that time.

Date: 2024-06-22 05:52 am (UTC)So maybe Link's a little fond of explosions, sometimes. The Sheikah Slate's bomb rune had always been his favourite.
He has to think a little at her question, though, head titled to one side. What can he share? He doesn't have Rauru's arm anymore, or the Sage's Vows. He doesn't have a similarly spectacular gift to demonstrate.
But, Link's not entirely without fancy tricks. Coming to a decision, he nods - and then runs towards the benches at the side of the room. Leaping on top of them, he uses them as a springboard to leap up high as he twists and draws the bow on his back.
From Link's perspective, everyone around his slows down. He has the time to aim and fire each shot as he wants it. But to Tandy, it will look like Link has just managed to draw and fire multiple times in less than a second.
At the other end of the room, nine arrows pierce one of the other lights.

Date: 2024-06-24 09:44 am (UTC)He totally gets it though; the need versus the want versus what he can actually pull off. He's the same way.
"I'm Noctis, but you can call me Noct." He replies, standing and moving to a closer chair so she doesn't need to talk loudly if she doesn't want to. "Can't say I'm any good at advice, but I can listen?"
Vault - Training
Date: 2024-07-02 08:09 pm (UTC)She's leaving the area she'd been training in, when her sharpened senses pick up the quiet footfalls and shifting light levels nearby. Now, the Sentinel doesn't come from a place with electric lights, but from what she's gathered, they...don't normally do that? Huh...curious, she goes towards the sounds, and is met by the sight of a young woman dancing. She's never seen anything like these movements, either in battle or at the festivals back home, and the grace and emotion in the dance capture her attention.
"How pretty..." She thinks outloud without realizing; she shifts her cap up slightly, the better for her emerald eyes to take it all in, never noticing the connection between the intensity of the dance and the lights as both grow.
