EVENT #04: THE GREAT SEA HUNT

With sharpened blades and loaded rifles, the Corsairs fan out across the Eternal Ocean. The Great Sea Hunt has begun once again. As the seas froth angrily from the horde of sea monsters, Corsair ships cut a path through. As the din of battle erupts across the Ocean, the Vault is undergoing heavy activity as other Corsairs begin preparing their grand feast.With the defeat of an Imperial Legion in their belts, all Corsairs are eager to make this hunt and this feast one to remember.

There will be open logs for each major category, as well as a wild card option for players to make their own. While these logs are roughly broken into roles, characters are free to tag in and out of whichever posts suit their fancy. The missions from planning and descriptions are repeated here for convenience:

MISSIONS

Monster Investigation: Characters will investigate where sea monsters are gathering for easier and more efficient culling.
Open to: Infiltrators
Hunt Monsters: Characters will go out on ships, and cull the raging sea monsters in the Eternal Ocean
Open to: Combatants
Prepare for the Parties: Characters will need to arrange and organize for the post-hunt celebration. There will be parties held in all major Corsair cities.
Open to: Negotiators
Provide for the Parties: Characters will need to prepare food, drink, and accomodations for the post-hunt celebration. There will be parties held in all major Corsair cities.

"Had to learn from an early age how to cook for myself," he said. "Spent a lot of time in the wilderness and in Dungeons as part of my job - buying all your food gets expensive fast, so I foraged and hunted, and had to clean my own kills as well as cook it. Some of the best years of my life doing that," he says.

"You're a fast learner," he adds, a note of approval. "That bin will be full in no time. Did you tell me what kinda stuff you like flavoring your ice cream?"

Atom did not, yet, but Senshi thinks he'll need to get his proverbial mise en place.

"Wow. You must know how to make all kinds of things completely from scratch then!" Beyond what most people would consider scratch, for that matter. Straight from the source.

"I haven't come across an ice cream flavor I didn't like," Atom muses as he starts cutting the onions, slowly at first. "But... I guess I have a soft spot for vanilla, if we have any of that. A lot of people consider it plain and boring, but it was the first flavor I ever tried, and I think it's more delicious than people give it credit for..." He catches himself rambling. "Otherwise, a fruit flavor should be fine!"

“What kind of wealth were you born into, lad, when folks can call vanilla ‘boring?’” Senshi asks, in sincerity; he’s plain astonished at the thought.

“We haven’t got a fleck of it. We do have plenty of fruits to choose from, and honey besides - what d’ye think of plums? How about apple - we’ve some cinnamon to go with.”

raiding an imperial import ship full of food would be a fun player plot >_>

"My world has very fast transportation. Ingredients can be shipped anywhere in the world and arrive within days. And there are thriving international ice cream companies too."

If his flight was working like it did at home and there was no empire keeping watch over borders, Atom would try grabbing some far away ingredients to deliver to Senshi to try. Maybe an opportunity would come eventually; surely the wealthy aristocrats of the empire desired imported foods and such things were closer than they realized.

Atom nods enthusiastically at Senshi's flavor suggestions. "How about apple and cinnamon? I've never had that flavor in ice cream before. Only baked goods."

Yes. Yes it would be. :/g

“Alright then. Let me get everything together.”

He gathers his ingredients, and explains his methods:

“Pour this cream and the sugar into a well-frozen churner, and start it going. Meanwhile, skin the apples, and cut them into large dice.”

His gnarled, callused hands are surprisingly deft and graceful as he speedily does so, sweeping the half-inch cubes of apple into a large mixing bowl.

“Cover with sugar, grated cinnamon bark, nutmeg, and a squeeze of lemon juice; stir until completely coated…”

He brings the bowl to the ice cream maker. “…and once you think the ice cream is solid enough, add this, then churn it until it’s evenly distributed.”

We'll have to think about the details! Maybe invite a few more characters if it's a big ship

Atom watches Senshi's demonstration and all the fine details that he names off by memory. Atom's chopping slows as he gets to the last onion of his crate, also in awe at the art of ice cream making.

"Mr. Senshi... Have you ever thought of writing a cookbook?" he has to ask. If Senshi was from Atom's world he could have his own cooking show. "You explain it all so clearly!"
