Robbing the Wizard's Castle [closed]
Dec. 15th, 2025 04:47 amWho: Atom, Renne, Rezo, and Ilphyl
When: Backdated to end of November
Where: The castle of Adelbert Rozhart
What: Atom has asked the small group of Corsairs to help him break into the wizard's castle in search of purified ether stones.
[ OOC: Friendly reminder that all participants can claim a magical item or two to take from the castle. Let me know what you'd like and I'll see if there's a chance to drop it into the scene. ]
Atom had asked around about wizards and magic users who would have purified ether stones on hand, and one name that kept coming up was Adelbert Rozhart. According to Corsairs who had once lived near the wizard, he had acquired all kinds of magic curiosities, and had even been sent strange objects by the empire for analysis. He had once been put in charge of the empire's magical research, but Adelbert had quit soon after starting. Regardless, the wizard was infamous for being extremely talented with magic, and equally as odd.
He was said to be reclusive; traveling alone between the quiet halls of his castle and odd jobs that he found fascinating enough to leave for, or longer trips to gather up supplies and new rare items to experiment with. According to Corsair intelligence, he had just left on one of his long supply runs- a prime time to enter his castle.
Upon approaching the castle, the group feels quaking from the ground beneath their feet. The stone wall of the castle starts to raise before them, revealing an arched doorway that leads right inside. A look in reveals stone flooring and a hallway ahead, and getting closer to the door triggers lights along the hall to turn on.
Atom scans what he can see and turns to the others. "I don't see any physical traps in the first 500 feet or so. It... Seems to be a normal hallway."
He frowns, unsure what to recommend as the next step. It's too easy. Or did the wizard have reason to feel secure without the doors locked? "Do you think we should go in this way?"
