Jun. 18th, 2024 10:21 pm(The Vault) Training Hall: Combat and Power Training
It's important to keep sharp. Momo keeps to a strict training regimen and as such spends a lot of time in the Academy's training grounds. She's switched to her training outfit, a red one-piece with a low cut down to her stomach that leaves her arms and legs bare, to maximize use of her power.
After Momo does her warm-ups, she forms a staff out of her body, and gets to work. She handles the weapon with grace, spinning it elegantly through the air, followed by a series of quick thrusts, alternating high and low. The blows are text-book. In fact, they are text-book, the movements practiced and precise down to the last detail. She knows these movements by heart.
"HA! YAH! HA!" Quick shift to guard stance, practising her blocks, then back to rest position. She pauses for a moment to catch her breath, then moves over to the side, where a bag with a canteen of water, some protein packs, and a towel are waiting for her to brush off. She nods to the hall's other occupant as she takes a deep sip.
"If you'd like to make use of the hall, please go ahead. Plenty of room for us both." She invites, putting the lid back on her canteen.
Once she dries her face, she'll get back to it.
Combat training is only part of her regimen; her power is still fairly new, and her body is still acclimating to it. The best way to grow the power, if such a thing is possible, is for it to see regular use. She's been told to think of it like a muscle, and like any muscle, it needs to see use to grow.
She tries to be as conscientious as possible, finding a small corner, sitting cross-legged on the ground, surrounded by a small pile of knick-knacks, doo-dads, tschotchkes, and the occasional small bladed or blunt weapon. Meditation helps her focus on the images of each item as it emerges from her body, helps her find the clarity of mind she needs to form each item.
As a small circular office stool emerges from her abdomen, Momo carefully unwraps her fourth protein bar of the day and begins to chow down. This is hungry work, after all.
(Vault) Library: Study Group
New recruits, freshly-liberated from the Empire, often face roadblocks getting settled into their new postings. Otherworlders especially, for whom the language barrier can be a difficult wall to overcome. This is why Momo makes herself available, using the Library's resources in the Vault, to assist helping Otherworlders get more acquainted with the local language, the Corsairs, the Vault, or any other topic of study they may be struggling with. Need to work on your language skills? Momo is happy to provide some light conversation for you to work on it.
(Elysium/Flotsom) Courier Delivery
Members of the Corsairs trade amongst each other for items, research materials, or mission supplies. Flotsom may require deliveries of medicines or food deliveries from Elysium, and the Vault often sends scientific and research material to the other strongholds on an as-needed basis. Deliveries like this have to be done discretely, below the Empire's radar, and that relies on couriers to deliver the packages to their respective destinations. Sometimes deliveries are made in stages, changing couriers as need be to reduce suspicion. It's a duty Momo has taken on more of, as a way to gain additional experience and become more familiar with the Corsair bases outside the walls of the Vault.
Need something that isn't readily available where you're stationed? There's a good chance Momo is the courier who brings it to you.
(This is an open/wild card prompt for people to interact with Momo who might not normally have the chance.)
Check-Up: Closed to Angelika
The experimental soldier program doesn't end when your power is successfully implanted; there's always a risk of rejection, or the power reacting with your body in unexpected ways, or affecting your mental state. It's a risk every applicant to the program is made aware of before the implantation process begins. A duty of care remains afterwards, to make sure the power is functioning smoothly and not causing any adverse physical, mental, or emotional problems, which means regular check-ups.
For the last few of Momo's, it's been Angelika who has handled her case, and it's been working out well. Momo likes her quite a bit; the synthetic girl is more personable and friendly than the other researchers assigned to the program, who can be rather...severe in disposition.
She's sitting on the examination bed when the cyborg enters hands folded on her lap, and smiles. "Hello again, Angelika." It is a relief to see her coming in. To be honest, she hopes that continues; she rather enjoys the other girl's company.

Check up
Date: 2024-06-19 01:14 pm (UTC)But, that was all laid aside for now. There were more urgent problems and research than a strange girl, and she was remarkably intelligent and well educated. Some people had objected to letting her take up these checkups, but how could they object to that bright sunny smile and optimistic greeting. "Hi, Momo! We're just going to run through the standard checklist today, unless there's any trouble." She was carrying a slate for notes and a doctor's bag in the other hand, with various tools poking out of it. Reflex hammers, stethoscope, all kinds of things-most of which weren't needed for the standard checklist. Perhaps it was just her eagerness turning into over-eager preparations.
"First question, and the most obvious. Are you in any pain, or have you experienced pains recently that were not explainable by any injuries?" She'd also memorized the questionaire at some point, because she wasn't consulting her notes for that.
