THE GREAT SEA FEAST
Marking the end of the harvest, the end of the hunt and the beginning of winter, the great sea feast is a week-long affair held during the end of November. It’s a time for the Corsairs to celebrate their accomplishments as they wind down for the year, and enjoy one last major party before the lean months of winter begin.
The celebration is a raucous affair held aboard Flotsam, with members of the other factions cycling in and out as their duties permit to ensure every Corsair, no matter where they are positioned, can enjoy at least 2 days of sustained partying.
The Feast is also a chance for the chefs and brewers of the Crimson Corsairs to really strut their stuff. New recipes are constantly being rolled out during the Feast as the Corsairs experiment with the wealth of sea monster meat returned from the hunts. This is also the first event in which the Vault unveils the newest crops developed in their underground farms. As the Empire is usually busy with their own harvest, they tend not to attack, although in order to ensure safety the fleet will usually break apart and hold scattered feasts in multiple areas, activating temporary Crimson Portals to allow easy access between the fleets.
The Feast
The plates are set with the finest creations the hunt has made available. A sumptuous spread including some rare delicacies such as kraken tentacles, leviathan filets, and sea dragon gizzard are gathered together in tantalizing arrangements and preparation methods. Seasoned with some of the finest herbs and spices from the gardens of Elysium and the underground farms of the Vault, one can barely turn without catching sight of a new, mouth-watering delicacy.
The Grog
The Grog flows freely during the Great Sea Feast, and in varieties new, exciting, and extremely flammable. The alcoholic content of Corsair grog is generally agreed to be on an entirely different level from those legal within the Empire, so those who hope to imbibe with a Corsair had better have an adamantine liver if they wish to make it out alive. And during the Great Sea Feast, barrels of the newest Grog concoctions are broached to celebrate the turn of the season. The grog sampled here will be reflective of what Corsairs can expect in the next year, so best figure out which ones agree the most with your stomach because you’ll be drinking it for quite some time yet to come.
Behind the Scenes
Although it is important that every Corsair gets to truly enjoy the festival, there is constant work behind the scenes to keep it running smoothly. All Corsairs are mobilized to help with organizing, serving, and stocking during the party. The typical agreement among the Corsairs is a person can spend 2 hours off-duty and enjoying the party for every one hour they spend working it, and there is no shortage of enthusiastic but questionably skilled volunteers every year. Whether it’s coordinating or just working in the trenches, even the workers are having the time of their lives. And, most importantly, volunteers also gain access to free grog while on the job, a continuously questionable decision that never fails to give the party an air of the unexpected as inebriated volunteers weave their way through the crowds.

So it's really no surprise to find the young turtlekin slipping between the revelers, clutching a mug as he makes way to where the coffee jug has been set up. While he surely can't fault anyone for enjoying themselves, he's never much liked all the noise and the crowd of bodies around him. Maybe if no one's passed out under there already, he'll hide under the table.
