1: pour one out for those who couldn’t make it
Senshi is at the public funerals. Of course he is. He knew people - good people - who died fighting, and a thankfully small few who died without a chance to.

When he goes, he brings the good ale, and the good rum, and offers it.

“To victory, and to those it cost us,” he toasts, before taking a sip in honor of the former, and tossing some drink overboard to honor the latter.

2: pulling up to a dock near you
There is a new ship in the Flotsam fleet, albeit a small one, barely past boatdom; a cargo runner with a converted forecastle, with large cutouts port and starboard, through which Senshi and a small crew can be seen…

Cooking?

Yes, cooking. Simple food - but with an emphasis on fresh produce and cold drinks that was previously unimaginable at sea. Highlights include the composed salad of tomatoes and tuna dressed in aioli, grilled skewers of meat and vegetables wrapped in flatbread; one of those cheese and tomato pizzas Donatello enjoyed, and a smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich on a toasted chewy roll. Oh, and ice creams for dessert.

A figurehead of a fat contented sea lion holds a scroll declaring this ship to be The Milk Runner - Groceries and Grill.. Senshi doubts it’ll be that easy, but it could and would deliver fresh milk to those in need of it…

Would Link pass up the chance to check out a new floating restaurant? Never.

Although Senshi may also find that when Link arrives, he's not particularly concerned with respecting any space as 'staff only'. No, when Link arrives he wanders into the kitchen to peer curiously at the set up, climbs all over the ship, and ends up brazenly walking down into the hold.

A hold which turns out to be freezing. Has Senshi filled this place with frost emitters?! How is it so cold?

Nephenee's tiredly going about her chores when she notices the new ship with its fancy figurehead. Huh, that's different. A smell wafting from the place catches her stomach's attention, and it grumbles at her that it's been a whole two hours since she ate last. "Gosh darn it..."

Well, might as well check it out. So Senshi gets a straw-hatted Sentinel poking her head in. "Oh, hey, Sir Senshi." She'd like that greeting to be a bit more energetic, but... "What's this ya got goin'?"

Look, while Ilphyl grew up where 'fresh produce' meant a dozen different sorts of mushroom and fungus, they still appreciate having food that isn't preserved or 'whatever can be gathered at sea'. (Yes, Ilphyl has experimented with eating seaweeds. They did find books and help reading them before going to taste tests, because they know not to eat unknown plants.)

So they are going to order whatever looks like it has the most vegetables on it. "This smells delicious."

"Careful. Don't want to lock yourself in," Senshi opines.

Some areas are merely cold, and full of fresh vegetables, fish, meat, and milk; another smaller area is freezing. Ingredients that don't need to be chilled are stored outside; flour, spices, dried goods.

"The Milk Run's a real beaut, isn't she?" Senshi says, visibly brightening. "One of the things holding me back from serving really, truly fresh food was needing to keep it on ice... so after the battle I spoke to some salvage crews and managed to get ahold of this ship."

He proudly displays his mise in place, with it's pre-diced and shredded, very fresh vegetables.

"What can I get for ya, Neph?"

"Fresh as the day it was picked," Senshi declares, as he composes the tuna salad.

It's a bed of greens, blanched haricots verts, boiled and cooled chunks of potato, cracked olives, lots of fresh tomato and tuna, in a garlicy dressing. And it is cool, even cold, and it is good.

He serves it and presents Ilphyl with a fork. "Tell me what you think," he asks. "And let me know what you want to drink - we have ice for our drinks."

"Anything is fine. What would you recommend?"

Ilphyl is from a high-magic society that chilled food is unusual enough to be a treat, but not unheard of. They take a bite of the salad. "This is very good."

Link must have luck then, because apparently he'd managed to find himself in one of the colder parts of the hull.

"C...C...cold?" He says, teeth chattering. It's both a statement an a question - just how is it so cold?!

He pats an innocuous looking piece of machinery.

“She’s got an Ether-powered refrigeration engine. Pumps the heat out of the room and out a series of vents in the aft. That, and I like to carry ice with it.”

He offers Link a hand and the way to the door.

“Useful stuff, ice. Pleasantly chills a drink. Care to try it?”

Oh. Ether could do that?

Link hadn't realised. But then, Link didn't actually know all that much about Ether.

But he probably should get out of this cold, so Link nods, and follows Senshi out.

"Like the Gerudo," Link says. "But they have to carry their ice from the Highlands."

"We have good strong ale, as well as strong honeyed tea - iced or hot - and fresh milk. Pick your poison," Senshi says. "Being able to keep things cold and fresh is a lifesaver."

"That's been the limit for us for a long time," he says, nodding. "Needing to take ice from the northern islands, or from mountaintops on Impie floaters. But having frost ether engines to cool things does amazing things for our logistics."

He pauses. "What did your Gerudo use the stuff for?"

"Tea, please," Ilphyl said. "Though what kind of milk? Cow's milk?"

Look, that's not the livestock they grew up with, so it's good to check.

"Yep," he replies. "Most of the sheep and goat milk we find gets turned to cheese, but cows produce a huge amount of milk. Useful stuff. Versatile."

He starts pouring out some tea. "What's common in your old neck of the woods?"

"Deep rothé. They're a kind of... big sheep adapted to living in cave systems on lichen. Well, closer to musk oxen, but domesticated. At least, that's what I grew up with. I've been around people who raise cows for a while, but..." Ilphyl shrugs. "The food you grow up with hits differently, even if I like trying new things."

"For drinks," Link replies. "Noble Pursuits. They're fruity."

And maybe they used ice other things too, but Link had only really paid attention to the Noble Pursuits.
