Well, if they're all diving back in, Link will do - with a little spin in the air as he does so, for extra flair.
Sometimes Link likes to be dramatic.
As the swim to the hatch however, and the shark-like creature appears, Link pauses. Maybe the creature wasn't hostile, but it was best to not have to fight it if possible.
So Link draws his bow. Fuses one of the fish he'd grabbed earlier to an arrow - and then fires it through the water, off past where the creature is swimming.
Being underwater, the arrow doesn't fly as far as it usually would - but with luck, the promise of a nice free meal away from where they all are will keep it distracted.
