Trying to cleanse and untangle the whole thing is a daunting proposition. But as with any daunting task, the only thing to do is to get started, chipping away at it one piece at a time. Rezo picks a channel connected to the core and touches it.
Mazoku are astral beings that heal by absorbing miasma, the energy created from negative emotions. Their antithesis, the gods of Rezo's world, are naturally the opposite and empowered by the positive emotions of those who worship them.
