Maomao takes some time finding a large, empty box - one that had been used to transport ingredients, in fact - and empty some rats into it. From there, get some food, and either mix in or coat small pieces of the food in an ingredient, give it to one rat at a time, and observe the effects. And write down the results, of course.

...It's not as fun as experiencing the effects herself though.
