Event #13: OF RAILS AND RECLAMATION MISSION LOG
The following mission prompts are open to all players. No log leaders are required, but players are free to use the details provided to guide the logs as they wish. Success will be determined by the number of prompts responded to, but not all prompts are required for the most optimal outcome.
Procure Salvage:
Supports: Develop Rails and Reinforce Flotsam Fleet missions
Details: The Corsairs will need a great deal of steel, ether stones, and other materials to enact their plans. The recent battles with the legion have left valuable materials at the bottom of the sea, and they will need to find ways to recover them.
The remains of the Legions have perhaps the heaviest load of Ether stones that have ever fallen into the Eternal Ocean. Their high density and concentration is said to already be causing major mutations in the local sea monsters, so in addition to the salvage work, Corsairs will need to dodge a number of sea monsters, some with strange and unusual abilities infused within them.
Raid the Mines:
Supports: Develop Rails and Reinforce Flotsam Fleet missions
Details: While the Corsairs have begun re-establishing mining operations in the captured mine they had collapsed, it is hardly enough to support the immense need for raw materials that will be involved in taking a whole continent. To supplement, the Corsairs can raid the sulfur and iron mines to bolster their stores.
With the defeat of the two legions, the mines are heavily guarded by Imperials, and their forces are far too strong to defeat without a major assault. The Corsairs will need to find a way to get in, get what they need, and get out. And, perhaps, liberate some miners along the way.
Infiltration and Investigation:
Supports: Infiltrate the Research Facility
Details: There are several Research Facilities across the continent of Bavrecht, all of which are devoted to the development of new weaponry. Chief among them is the main facility, which is where most of the military and test personnel bunk during test periods. The Corsairs will need to sneak in and capture the layout and defenses of the facility.
The Facility is said to be commanded by the Legatus of the 13th Legion, Dr. Emric Folken. Dr. Folken is a canny researcher absolutely unburdened by ethics in his pursuit of more powerful weaponry. Dr. Folken maintains a large group of captive serfs and undesirables for human experimentation or target practice, and these personnel might be contacted in order to foment a rebellion.
The Legatus himself is a particularly dangerous individual, he typically uses ether to enhance his senses to an absolutely unnatural level. The infiltrators will need to avoid making contact with him, so thoroughly can he see and memorize the biometric data of an individual that he will expose the Corsairs if he is encountered. He’s an eccentric man prone to rambling and flights of fancy, so the Corsairs will need to employ a combination of social stealth and physical stealth to avoid detection.
