Quest 09
i. Rich people have too much weird stuff [Open]
Whenever there was a quiet moment on the new port of Flotsam on the Fallen Isles, Link was - naturally - taking the chance to explore.
There was an intricate tunnel network here - which looked to have started off as mining tunnels, and then had ended up as…rich people storage tunnels? Because Link kept findings things.
A storage chamber that seemed to contain nothing by the exact same fancy bag, in different colours. Another filled with entirely with one noble’s very bad self-portraits. A room that could only be described as…a space for amorous activities.
(That last one had Link’s ears turning pink, before he immediately Ascended the hell out of there.)
But apart from the somewhat traumatising sex dungeon, Link shamelessly explored them all. And pockeded anything that looked like it might be useful, of course.
ii. All shall fear the chicken of doom [Open]
It happened when Link was in the Vault, visiting the subterranean farms. Pepper the Chicken was with him; she had squawked furiously at him when he tried to leave Flotsam without her. So he’d brought her along.
But as Link ran through the farms, Pepper had flown a little afield. She’d ended up in a field keeping goats - and one of them seemed to take offense to the chicken intruder in their midst.
The goat bleated with rage. Pepper, fearless, refused to move and clucked imperiously. The goat charged.
And then, before Link could step in to invervene - Pepper sqwarted, and suddenly became an entire flock of chickens. It was a multitude of Peppers, and they were all ganging up on the poor hapless goat that dared to attack her.
In moments, the goat was left on the ground, dazed and very bruise. And Pepper - now once more just the one chicken - flapped her wings, landed on Link’s shoulder, and clucked with satisfaction.
Link stared. What in Hylia’s name was that?!
iii. Fashion catwalk time [Locked to Aira]
Link is practically bouncing on his toes, full of barely contained energy, as he raps on the door of Aira’s shop.
She’s been making some new outfits for him, and it’s time for a final fitting. He doesn’t have a clue what they’re going to look like. Which, honestly, is half the fun.
The other half of the fun is getting new clothes. Will they be pretty? Have fun colours? Maybe even have some nice little sparkly beads?
He’s going to find out soon, and he’s very keen.
iv. Searching for young robots [Locked to Atom]
It took Link a little while to realise that he hadn’t seen Atom in a while.
Maybe it took so long because Link generally isn’t the person to keep regular social appointments. He just runs into people, at random, while he’s out and about doing other things. But Atom tended to come see Link sometimes, and…he hadn’t.
Not since the mission with Gaurus.
So Link starts searching. He peeks into the window of every ship on Flotsam. Searches every level of the Vault. It’s a haphazard search, one that frequently has Link getting distracted by mysterious vault mushrooms. But he’ll find Atom…eventually.
