Aira isn't about to judge anyone for their taste in reading.
... Well, she isn't about to judge Raph for his taste in reading. Anyone she doesn't like is fair game for ridicule. Aira herself has a weakness for trashy magazines, but those don't seem to be as popular here in Esthere as they are back home. Still, she does end up giggling a little at the title.
"Eh? He's horrible and harmless? I'm curious how that works!"
She isn't sure what to say in response to Donnie's experience. In a way, she can actually relate: the Corsairs had rescued her from enslavement after she'd been summoned through the Servant's Gate, but by contrast, they'd forced her to learn the language of Esthere in order to make her a more valuable slave. Though Aira would rather not linger on the subject, and she figures that Donnie feels similarly.
