Shu probably does not want to know just how many risottos Link has in there right at this very moment. It's bound to be more than she's comfortable with.
And Link is indeed interested to hear about the forest spirits of Shu's word...although their description also makes him frown, in faint puzzlement. "Not like...Esthere elves?"
People kept thinking Link was an Esthere elf. It was the ears; even though Link's weren't shaped quite the same way. The differences between elves and hylians seemed obvious to Link, but apparently not to everyone else.
Shu's elves, though, sounded like something else again.
