Perhaps Link doesn't really understand, but...the concept of something unfathomably great being broken into smaller fragments isn't so strange to him. There's myths about the Heroes of the past, how many of them went on quests to gather pieces of a greater power...although by Link's time, no one actually remembers what that great power actually was.
"...What happened to the fragments?" He asks. Did they retain the essence of Sui's evil? Or did they become someone else? Did anyone ever try to bring them back together again?
