Donnie gives the smallest of nods. He doesn't have it in him to talk anymore at the moment, but he's glad Shu at least seems to understand. As much as anyone can possibly understand of an impossible situation.
His only response to her parting words is to pull into himself tighter, but perhaps the traitorous sniffle that might have escaped is lost amidst the other sounds of the forge.
