Her brow knots for a moment, hearing 'decades'. An atomic battery, maybe? Or some form of technology she's not aware of? An interesting thing to ask later; sufficient to the task to say, "Back home we had similar, but not nearly so 'painless'," and shrug, to indicate that this was the reason she had asked.
She did, however, have a similar soft smile in place at Oki's gallows humor.
