Just as they are about to jump, Link makes one final move towards the enemy. But it's not an attack; with how hard he needs to cling to the Armour, he's not able to make any real attack.
But he can reach in to his pack with one arm, and lets a few Puffshrooms just...drop. No aiming; he just lets them fall where they may. But the clouds of spores that explode beneath them give them just a bit of extra cover as they make their escape.
