Donnie's clearly no stranger to climbing things. Sometimes he and his brothers would have nothing better to do but scale the cliffsides and such by the coast where they'd lived. Donnie and Leo particularly liked finding good places to dive from.
Not that Donnie wants to do any diving here, but he makes his way without much trouble, eventually dropping down onto the armor so he can feel his way around for the cockpit's release.
